I'm looking for the pattern that is on the cover of this book. It is a Peacock afghan. The pattern number is 3019-132. I purchased the book at half price book and didn't look well enough that someone had taken that pattern out of the book. I would like this pattern if any one has it or could tell me where I could purchase it I would appreciate it.
Thanks

Is it not available from Bernat or maybe ebay? I swear every time I go to ebay and just put in a title, someone has it LOL.

Although that's an old book, there are always a couple of them available on eBay.
Most sellers do not let you know (more likely, they themselves don't know) that 4 of the patterns in the book require cross stitch charts that did not come with the book. You mailed an enclosed certificate back to Bernat to get one of the charts for free. The Toltec bird on the cover was one of those.
Like you, I purchased the book because of the beautiful afghans and discovered about the charts not being included. I posted on the About.com crochet forum and got a response from someone who knew a store that bought Bernat inventory. I was able to purchase 2 of the 4 charts from the store. I Just looked and the peacock is not one of the ones I purchased.
About all I can remembers is that the store was iin Massachusetts.

I finally was able to find my original posting in About.com. Here's the information I got back in 2001:

Hi,
Emile Bernat & Sons are no longer in business and just sold name to Spinrite in
Canada and they don't have any Bernat Patterns sorry to say.
You could try contacting the old Bernat Store and the woman that runs the store may have some old Bernat Patterns. Worth a try and good luck.

I just googled the name and address and it's showing up in google, so perhaps you'll luck out.

I believe that this one is an example of the book without the charts. The charts are just a tad wider than the book, so I'd think the seller would mention them if s/he had them with the book.

Holy cow. She wants $30 for the charts! And then $15 for wool samples? If I paid that much back in 2001, I must have had some sort of bonus just drop on my desk.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have the book and not the charts and I can't believe she wants 30 bucks for them! Man, are they written in gold or what?

They are NOT asking $30 for a small paperbound book. They are asking $30 for the cross-stitch charts that had to be specially obtained to do 4 of the afghans in the book. The cross stitch-charts are heavy brown paper than unfolds to something like a flip chart page size.

They're not gold; they're rare and have never been published again.

Yes, and I did that back awhile back. It had taken me such an effort to find the charts that I began to email sellers (there's a link to ask the seller a question). Frequently sellers will post the questions they receive. I don't recall any sellers having the charts. They all said that they were unaware and were just selling a book they had obtained elsewhere.
Unfortunately, those of us who bought this book bought it from looking at the beauty of the patterns and didn't discover the missing charts until we actually began working a pattern.

I may have to bid on this just to get the peacock graphs. I have two other sets of graphs -- I think they're stunning.

Thanks to all of you that replied. I did send a question to the seller on Ebay asking if the graph was included or if she had one.
I can't believe the one lady wants $30 for the graph. Unfortunately the book I purchased doesn't have the pattern at all. Some one took that out before they sold it to half price books.
Again thanks to all of you. If I get an answer back from the Ebay seller I'll let you all know.
