I would like to make a runner/scarf type thing for my daughter's piano teacher, as a Christmas gift. I am not sure if she has a grand piano or not, since my daughter takes her lessons at the teacher's church, not her home.

Anyone know of a nice runner pattern? A musical theme would be nice but not necessary.

Here's some musical bits you might use to design your own filet one, maybe you could add her name.

Of course Celt's site has so many pretty ones.

You might want to check first, if you intend her to use it on her piano, some uprights really don't have room for a runner. My DH decided to buy a piano after he retired, I only had room to put a couple of little doilies on each end, not much more than overgrown bookmarks. (the middle was pretty much blocked by the music stand thingy...you can tell I don't play, eh?).

Depending on your choice a nice lacy stole would make an excellent runner. There are lots of shawl patterns that would make nice runners. I think outside of the box and look at other uses and not just think runner patterns.
