Although I've crocheted years I cannot seem to find or know the correct name of what i'm looking for--

It is a lacey looking stitch--lets say start with a chain st then on every row ch maybe 6-8 then 1sc then ch 6-8 is a very loose looking. Then you weave strips of yarn through the lacey parts......I feel silly describing it this way--does anyone of a clue? thanks

Would this be something simular to what you were asking about, even if the pattern was not what you were wanting? http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/afghans.php and select Woven Scotch Plaid Afghan. (Think directly to the pattern would not correctly attach to this post)

I'm not sure if I'm on the right track with this but your description reminded me of the Bright Ribbons MAM pattern.

Here's a link (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=26467&highlight=bright+ribbons) to someone's show-and-tell with their version.

The pattern is in the Annie's Favorite Baby Projects book.

Good luck! :)
