Very nice cape. You did a wonderful job. :yay I myself am working on cape at the moment. I want something warm to snuggle into when I am crocheting but the freedom of my arms to crochet. Thought a cape would work better than either a poncho or a shawl.
Yours turned out loverly. Hope mine looks half as nice. :hook

That is so elegant!:clap That's it! Elegant is what I was trying to think of. It really is, I just wish I'd made the larger size so I could wear it. As it is, looks like mom will add to her crocheted garment collection.

Really pretty,in all the colours:)

I love sage green. Did you make it for yourself? lol that darned camera, I never know what color something will turn out. sometimes it's right on and other times it's like these pictures each one different. I really made it just to be making it, but now I wish I'd done the larger size so I could (maybe) wear it. I can button this one and it looks fine around the neck but the rest of it just doesn't cover what I think it should cover. :blush

That looks gorgeous! How much yarn did you end up using? Thanks Ghost. It took almost 2 full 6 oz skeins of red heart super saver and about a quarter of a skein of caron simply soft for the trim.

As usual, lovely work from Dot...no matter who's pattern it is! Thanks for pointing the way to that cape: it has a nice Edwardian feel when done in solids as you did, and I also like the Swashbuckler from that same group---a similar shape but different stitch and with a collar.

Very nice. I am thinking a cape for this winter would be nice since I will be too big and round with baby on the way to fit in to a coat or jacket. hmmm. Better get crocheting! Thanks for sharing!:cheer:hug

Looks Great! I have that on my to-do list. I was thinking of making one for my 8 year old for a back to school item for fall. Do you think the pattern could be worked into an 8 year old girl size?

bythehook
July 27th, 2005, 05:04 PM
Thanks, Jody. I'm not very good at downsizing things, but it's all dc and it may not need anything more than doing fewer rounds from the neckline to the beginning of the arm holes, and then however many rows you need to the length that's right for you. Good luck with it. It's really an easy pattern to follow. Looks Great! I have that on my to-do list. I was thinking of making one for my 8 year old for a back to school item for fall.
