Hello,
I am looking for an afghan pattern that my mother had. From mid 80s. It is done with double Crochet and looks almost like a filet design. It had a ruffled edging. We lost the patternin a house fire in August of last year and I then lost mom in October. Would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me to find this pattern again. I have a photo and would email to anyone who thinks they could possibly have the pattern.
Thanks so much,
Tammy

It looks a lot like this afghan posted by Yarncat, except that hers doesn't have the edging..

She posted a pattern source, but it will be hard to find, as it is in an older magazine.

It would be easy to duplicate by counting the stitches in the photo.

The diamonds are made of rows 1, 3, 5, 7, 5, 3, 1 dcs, on either side of the diamond is a ch-1 space. You could sketch out a portion of the repeat on graph paper. Make a chain a few inches longer than you want the width of the blanket, and follow your pattern...when you get to a pattern repeat close to the end of your chain, just turn and keep going. You can pick out the extra chains and weave in the end with no harm done.

Wouldn't it have to be a chain two space in order to make the pattern work out? The spaces in the picture TBender posted look like they wide enough to be worked over two double crochets to me.

It looks like a ch 2 space to me.

Actually - it is a ch 2 sp.

I've made a few of these the same way.
You can add any border you like to it.
