View Full Version : Amigurumi-Along (stuffed toys)

kusine
June 16, 2005, 04:26 PM
I've been having a lot of fun making amigurumi (stuffed toys), I thought others might, too! I've decided to start an amigurumi-along so maybe I can find some other like-minded hookers who want an excuse to make the little cuties.

(and it will fulfill one of my 101 things in 1001 days (http://www.kusine.com/fancies/101things/index.html) :D )

Does Amigurumi have to be a specific style or size? Is it like manga or anime? I like making toys but am ignorant about this type.

I'm not terribly educated about it, either, but I've seen everything from bears to dragons to bunnies to cars to cupcakes to dollies to made-up creatures!

I just think stuffed toys are cute and fun to make. :)

I might join this one later, I haven't made a stuffed toy in a long time.

I actually just received one of the books I ordered not too long ago... it's volume 2 in one of the collections. I didn't order from this seller, but you can see pictures of the book here on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41232&item=8200733557).

I will probably pick a pattern (or two or ten!) out and join this CAL! :)

My pattern books came :clap
I only flipped through them quickly but all the pics are adorable. I can tell I'm going to need to spend some quiet time to really work my way through a pattern though, the diagrams are kind of scary :eek

Me again!
Pixi, that Roxycraft site has an Amigurumi bunny pattern on it!
http://www.roxycraft.com/crochet_amigurumi_bunny.htm

I think I'm going to try him because I've never done a critter before. I think it will be easier for me to figure out the Japanese patterns if I do one from an English pattern first:yay

You don't need to speak Japanese and there are patterns on the left side of the blog (http://amigurumi-along.blogspot.com/). Click here to read the rules (http://amigurumi-along.blogspot.com/2005/06/rules.html) about how to join!

Hey! :) Ok, I would like to take part in this. Do people have to get their own patterns for this? If so, where can you get them! I love the little mini monster someone made! It's so cute! let's see.........I think that's all I wanted to know.....

Here's how to sign up and the rest of the rules:

http://amigurumi-along.blogspot.com/2005/06/rules.html

There are a bunch of links to patterns on the site on the right hand side (and a wonderful person has sent me bunches more, but I have been so lazy about putting them up. Maybe I'll do that this morning before my company gets up!). You should be able to find something you like there!

I'll be happy to see you join us!
