I guess shrugs have replaced the poncho as the new fun thing to crochet with endless possibilities. I just love making them. If you go to my picture trail album at http://www.picturetrail.com/tepperleen and go to the one photo album I have and then scroll down to the bottom you will see my friend Angela in my latest. Thanks for looking. It's made with 3 different strands of Red Heart's cotton.

I am supposed to be painting my kitchen and here I am admiring your shrug.:) It is beautiful by the way. I really like everything about it: size, colour, texture, sleeves.:clap
Not familiar w. Red Heart cotton, can you elaborate on weight?
Also, if you don't mind, what stitch pattern did you use?

I'm glad you all liked it. I was really hoping to sell it this weekend at a crafts fair, but no luck there.
I used Red Heart Lustersheen. It's a sport fine weight yarn. I used 3 strands of different colors. Unfortunately, I ran out, went to get more and realized when I started using the new strands that I had bought the wrong color for one of the strands. I decided to use it anyway because I was making it for a crafts fair the next day. It actually came out kind of cool. So the sleeves are a little different than the body.
So I have no pattern, but it's so easy. I started at the cuff and chained enough to go around my arm. I crocheted in the round using the stitch from this pattern. http://www.*****************/AntiqueCrochet/free/~BedJacket.htm (I'm actually making that exact pattern right now). I increased a couple of stitches as my arm got wider. Once the first sleeve was long enough, I stopped working in the round and turned at the end of rounds to make the hole, Once the whole was big enough I starting crocheting in the round again to form the other sleeve, remembering to decrease in the same place that I had increased on the other sleeve. Then I did 3 rounds on each wrist increasing the chains from 3 to 5 to make a little flare. Then I crocheted around the hole for many many rounds, eventually increasing the chains from 3 to 5. That's it. This is very familiar to the fluffy shrug schematics here: http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6750&highlight=schematics
The great thing about making these is that you don't need a pattern, just some great yarn and a great stitch.

Not sure what you mean by the first poncho. If you mean the lavender poncho, the pattern is on my website. OR do you mean the blue one?
