I was searching through etsy today and came across these fabulous-looking flower shaped hotpads. Here. (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_gallery_13&listing_id=15675091)
Does anyone have or know of a pattern for these?
(You can enlarge the photos by clicking on them.) I love how the contrasting yarn goes all the way around each pedal.
I really want to make these!!

Those are really cute. I'm curious, though. The description says they are knit but they sure look crocheted to me.

Yeah, I saw that too. But I think people who don't knit or crochet can't tell the difference so I figured they just didn't know.

Becks, there is a pattern in an Annie's Attic book that looks like the pictures. The book is Crochet Collectable Thread Potholders. Copyright is 1988, 1991. Don't know if you will be able to find it now. The pattern is called Shell Points. These are done in thread, but the pattern is the same.

I found this pattern (http://teresafranco.typepad.com/teresafranco/2007/11/crochet-flower-.html), which is pretty close, but I know that I have seen the exact pattern for these somewhere. It was on a blog and the lady had scanned a lot of cute dishcloth/coaster patterns. It's driving me crazy now that I can't think of it. If I remember or find it, I'll be sure to let you know.

I know you already found a booklet on ebay, but this pattern (http://members.aol.com/SAG55/shpot.html) is also pretty close, just short a few rounds, I think.

They are from an Annie's Attic book called "Ultimate Book of Potholders"
You can still buy it from here: http://www.maggiescrochet.com/annies-attic-ultimate-book-of-pot-holders-p-485.html

I found site also and these flowers would be cute added to a potholder. The only thing I can think of is to add it to the top of a basic potholder or hotpad in contrasting colors. I used an e hook and it is about five inches across. It would be cute to just make it as a potholder but I don't know how to do that. Still learning crochet.

I have that one in a potholder leaflet from The spool cotton Co. 1952. It uses knit cro sheen doubled so it should work in yarn too.
