My dd has a set of fairy wings that had panty hose covering the wire with glitter on it. Well the panty hose got torn off (surprise, surprise) and instead of just tossing out the frame, which is still perfectly fine, I have decided to crochet her some new wings, only problem is I have no idea how to go ahead with this. So I figured since I am part of this wonderful community of crocheters I would see if anyone has any pointers.:manyheart
I know that DD would just LOVE to have her wings fixed. Thanks in advance!

IF I was doing it this would be what I would try the earrings from crochetdad pattern all around it

What shape are her wings? How about making a whole bunch of different colored flowers, butterflies and whatever and sewing them together to fill in the frame or replace the panty hose and then glue crocheted (or store bought)flowers ,stars, butterflies etc. on it....this has the potential to become one of the best Halloween costumes ever!:jack

you could even do the simple butterfly thats posted here

and fold it in half and attach it. You'd have to make it bigger if its for a child maybe working round 2 a few times before getting to round 3.

if the wings have a metal frame i would work something like a lightweight web as in a dream catcher.

They are 4 shaped loops with a bit of webbing that holds them together. I was thinking of a Dreamcatcher type of an idea but I don't actually know how to make a dreamcatcher.

you could ch so many then form a ring then place in the middle of the wing then ch out to on side of the wing and sc around the frame then ch back to the ring and back and forth.then you can work from there.
