Hope this is ok.

Frog Hook Holder Pattern
Pattern has not been tested. Crochet at your own risk.

Frog can also be stuffed with appropriate stuffing for toy or bean bag. If used as a bean bag an inner bag of cloth may be needed so stuffing won’t leak out.

The body is a ball or oval shape.
Materials: WW yarn - medium green, yellow, small amount light green and white. 2 7/16” buttons for eyes, black thread or yarn to sew on eyes, needle. Marbles to stuff body. Polyester Fiberfil to stuff legs. Size H crochet hook.

No gauge listed. WW yarn.

Body

1. With H hook and med green yarn ch 2. 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Do not join. Mark beg. of rnd. 6 sts.
2. 2 sc in ea st arnd. 12 sts.”
3. 2 sc, 2 sc in next st around. In this rnd and those to follow, sc any “leftover” sts.
4. Sc in ea st arnd. 16 sts.
5. 3 sc, 2 sc in next st. 20 sts.
6.-10. Repeat r5. 39 sts at the end of r 10.
11. The instructions for the eyes are written as one long round since it is a spiral and easier to follow the stitch count in that manner.
Remove marker. sc the following: 2 white, 6 green, 2 white, 28 green *4 white, 4 green, 4 white, 26 green* repeat once. There should be 2 white sts centered above 4 white sts, above the bottom 4 white sts.
12. Replace stitch marker in the stitch below the first bottom white stitch. Sc arnd. 39 sts.
13. 5 sc, sc next 2 sts tog arnd. Sc last 4 sts. 34 sts.
14. Sc arnd.
15. 5 sc, sc the next 2 sts tog arnd.
16. Change to light green. Sc arnd.
17. Change to yellow. 5 sc, sc the next sts tog arnd.
18. Sc arnd.
19. 3 sc, sc the next 2 sts tog arnd.
20. Sc arnd.
21. Sc, sc the next 2 tog sts arnd.
22. Sc arnd.
23. Repeat row 21 and 22 until 7 sts remain.
Leave a few inches of yarn to weave closed. Stuff with marbles. If desired outline eyes with green yarn. Sew buttons to centers of eyes.

Back Legs - Make 2

1. With medium green and H hook, ch 13. Join w sl st. sc in each ch arnd - 12 sts.
2. Sc around. Do not join. Mark beg. of rnd. 12 sts.
3. 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc.
4.- 10. Sc arnd.
11. *Sc 3, sc next 2 sc tog* twice. Sc any leftover sts at the end of a round.
12. 1 sc, sc next 2 sc tog, 3 sc, sc next 2 tog, sc in last sc. 7 sts.
13.-15. Sc arnd.
16. 3 sc, 2 in next sc, sc in last 2. 9 sts.
17. Rep r 16.
18. 3 sc, sc 2 in next sc arnd. 14 sts.
19. - 20. Sc arnd.
21. 3 sc, sc 2 tog arnd.
22. Sc arnd.
23. Flatten foot end of leg and sc the 2 sides tog. sts. Ch 3, turn.
24. 2 dc in 1st st, sl st in next st, *ch2, 2 dc in next st* 3 times. Sl st in last st. There should be 4 toes.

Front Legs - Make 2

1. With med. green chain 13. Join w sl st.
2. - 7. Sc around. Mark beg of rnd. 12 sts.
8. *Sc 3, sc next 2 sts tog,* twice. Sc in last 2 sts.
9. Rep r 8.
10. Flatten end of leg. Sc the 2 sides tog. Ch 3, turn. 4 sts.
11. Sc in same st, (ch 3, sl st in same st) 3 times. End off. There should be 4 toes.

Tongue

1. With pink or red ch 3, turn.
2. Sc in second ch from hook, sc in last ch. Ch 1, turn.
3.-8. Sc in the 2 sts. Ch 1, turn.
9. Sc around, End off, leaving a length of yarn for attaching to frog.

Sew or glue small bug to tongue, if desired. Attach legs.

:2frog OK...now that frog hook holder is just too darn cute!!! I did a search to see what it looked like and can't believe I didn't put 2 + 2 together. I cannot wait to make it now! Way to go, Fran. You've outdone yourself with this! :frog

I gotta try this my sister Loves Frogs . It's the only thing she collects. She doesn't know how to crochet tho. Maybe i can send her an extra hook and some links to tutorials. This may just inspire her to try. Definately on my to do list !
