Anyone have this book? I love the idea of having the bag also hold the little dolls and clothes. I was wondering if there is a pattern out there like this. My daughter is going to be 2 soon and I think she's a little young for it, but I'd like to stash it for the future. ;)

Denise, I don't have that pattern but I will tell you what I've learned through experience with "stashing". Be sure you buy the baby dolls too cuz they won't be available when you get around to making it! Especially that annie's attic stuff. It comes and goes pretty quickly. Just thought I'd give you a heads up!

Oh my god! What nostalgia! When I was little my grandmother had a friend who used to make me these exact things using the bottom of a dish detergent bottle just like the patterns linked here! Wow! I haven't thought about that since.....well probably since I used to play with them!

Thanks for the great links. If anyone sees more please post them. Being the pattern hoarder that I am, I want as many ideas as possible.
Oh isn't crocheting such an addiction. I don't know what's worse, getting the patterns, buying tons of yarn, or marking all the patterns that you hope to make in your lifetime!! :D

I'm almost done with this one
http://irenecrafts.com/patterns/cradle_purse.htm
but I definately had to fudge the hood part. I centered the stitches by laying the pattern flat and at one edge counted back 9 stitches and then joined, instead of using the marking stated. Also, the sc stitching for the hood was not giving me a rounded hood at the end, so instead I alternated the stitches with hdc and dc. It definely made a more rounded hood. I'll post a picture when its done. Now I have to order those babies. They were so cute.

Hi, I just recently bought the book and the bassinets and clothes are adorable. I am having a little trouble making the bassinet. I found out that there are errors in the pattern so I have to improvise. The baby dolls you can get at Toys R US for $1.99 each. Annie's attic is selling them for $2.99. Follow the lady's advise and buy a few of them because these little baby dolls for some reason are hard to get. Good Luck. Taina

Do you by any chance know the name of the doll so I can see if I can buy it online as the nearest Toys R US for me is an hour away.

I have the booklet and what I have done is bought some of the expression dolls or gigo dolls that measure 8.5" off of ebay and am crocheting the clothes for them by the patterns. They have the cute faces, are inexpensive, and are soft bodied. The Annie Pattern for the largest purse calls for cardboard to help hold it up... that seemed to me a delay in the making or rather not making... but after seeing these patterns I am thinking of modifing the pattern and using a downy bottle's bottom. I have to measure it 1st of course. Thank you for the patterns! Sue

Itsy BItsy Babies your best luck is ebay or yardsales, Anniepotter.com while slow shipping still has patternbooks available for 5"-8" lots to love dolls be warned however she doesn't answer emails and takes 2 months to ship if that doesn't bother you that is your best bet...I snag everyone I can find for the smallest sizes of lots ot love dolls.
Best of luck to you I hope this has been of some help!

I too would love the name of the doll I can't afford $4 per doll am disabled and not able to work so every penny has to count although I have been told that dollar stores tend to carry Kelly (barbies little sister) 4.5" knock offs taht fit in the kelly clothes just fine I am going to look for them when my mom comes to get me for a visit.
I have also been told the kelly dolls fit in the itsy bitsy baby doll outfits will post when I know for sure as I have a kelly doll coming

Hi
Was wondering where I would look at Wally World for one of these dolls, would they be in the toy section or in the craft section? Looked at your album, your cradle purse is so cute as are all your other projects. Especially loved the baby set with the poncho and ice skates.
I just bought the AA book with the cradle purse set with the baby and the teddy bear off of Ebay last night. I got it for 11.00 incl shipping which I though was pretty good, some of them have been going for 20.00 and up. Annie's Attic has reissued the book, but I figured it would cost at least that much there, with shipping. I have a while to work on it as my granddaughter isn't due to be born til the end of this month, but I'll be ready to make her a cradle purse when she gets old enough!!!

Thanks, I enjoy crocheting and love to make afghans and baby things. The little dolls are in the toy section with the dolls. They are in a box that says tiny babies I believe. Look around the dolls, sometimes they are hidden.

I don't know if anyone can help but I have made these and they take a 4" doll. I read on here Walmart carries them but our Walmart only has 6" for $1. I have searched the net and can't find a 4" doll that doesn't cost much. I don't want to use a bear and I don't want a handmade doll. Anyone out there know where to get one??

Hobby Lobby has a very cute little doll for about $1.29. I've bought a couple, they're very cute!
