Joining the 2 Pansies:

Note: Each petal is referred to as a HILL and the V shape where 2 petals meet is called the VALLEY.

Layer the Light Purple (LP) Pansy ontop of the Medium Purple (MP) Pansy so that the centers meet.

With yellow yarn, thread a double strand onto needle.

Insert yarn thru back of MP and bring out the front of LP approx ¼ inch below edge of a Hill. Bring yarn thru center holes and again, thru back of MP to front of LP, 1/8 inch below edge of Valley. Continue around pansies until there is a double strand in each hill and valley. Fasten off yarn.

FINAL TOUCH:

Wrap Black yarn around index and middle fingers approx 12 times. Gently pull off fingers and wrap yarn tightly around center of loops. Tie a knot.

Cut loops to create Pom-Pom…trim pom-pom to even out.

Using tail from knot of center string, tie into center of pansies. Fluff pom-pom.

Fastening Cover to Base:

Center Cover over Mirror.

With tail left on Medium Purple Pansy, sew the 3 SC stitches to the area of the base behind the 3 SC.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

DONE!!!

Thanks for all the replies!! After I designed this, I ended up buying a book on all types of flowers to crochet....you could do almost any flower for the top or even a smily face, etc....once you have the base down, the top part can be your own imagination!

Enjoy!!:cheer
