UGH!! the socks i made for my dad for father's day don't fit!!!:cry :cry :cry :thair
i used hubby as my mannequin because they wear the same size shoe... anyhow.... my dad's foot is somehow longer in the heel. does this make sense?:think
lengthening on the "foot" section wouldn't work because then it will bring it too far up the top of his foot. these rows are also really tight. so.... the question is:

how can i lengthen the sock in just the heel portion?

i'm using the pebbled sand (or soemthing) pattern from Crocheted Socks!

I don't have that book, so I'm not much help. I'm guessing it has a heel flap? If so, I'd try lengthening that heel flap, picking up more stitches going into the foot, and then increasing the number of decrease rows, in order to get back to the same number. Does that help?

I've only done short row heels, so those are the only ones I've played with modifying. However, from what I remember when flipping through that book, all of her socks were the heel flap type.
