My son in law has been asking for his own "soft" blanket. I've bought the yarn but now I have no idea what to do with it! I'd prefer not to have to sew motifs together, but anything that's join-as-you-go would be perfect, or anything that's worked in one big piece.
The yarn just came in today. I have some swaps I need to finish up, but I'd like to start this project by the beginning of net week as it's a holiday gift. I got 6 skeins of green camo, and 2 skeins of dark olive (colors pictured below). Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help! :hug

How about this one with the camo between the arrow rows? I'm making this pattern for my speech mentor and it looks pretty cool.

I wonder if those colors would look good in this pattern?:

I just made this http://crochetme.com/patterns/easy-patterned-throw afghan for my father in law for Christmas. I think its kinda manly yet with some texture. And its really easy and works up quick!

You might want a large granny square afghan. Very easy

I'm working on a king-sized afghan for my husband. He didn't want any designs or squares etc, wanted it as plain and simple as possible. He picked the yarn--RHSS Aspen Print (light earth tones) and decided he wanted it done in sc blo so it will have ridges of sorts. He also wanted it triple-strand. It's taking forever and a day but it'll happen.
So maybe hdc or dc (mine wanted sc because he didn't want holes) in the main color and a border in the variegated?

Maybe a rectangular granny (http://iamtotallyobsessedwithyarn.blogspot.com/2006/01/granny-square-pattern-with-pictures.html). Mary

I just wanted to thank everyone for your help! I took all of your ideas along with a couple of my own to my daughter and asked her to help me pick one he'd like and she thinks he'd like the ripple. So that's what I'm gonna go with. A simple double crochet ripple.
Thanks again for all your help :hook:hug
