I've googled. I've checked CPC. I would like to crochet a nutcracker for a friend who collects them. He has quite a few. They are made of wood or ceramic or whatever. Certainly nothing made by hand or from yarn.
Any ideas of where to search would be appreciated.

You might be able to adapt this pattern to make him stand and have a hinged mouth: http://cgi.ebay.com/TOY-SOLDIER-CROCHET-PATTERN-CLIPPED-FROM-BOOK_W0QQitemZ220305146155QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ200 81103?IMSfp=TL081103104004r8925

Ok they aren't crochet but I think they are cute. It's plastic canvas and FREE! I'll keep my eyes peeled for the both of us. I want to make some too.

Hooked on Crochet magazine had a pattern for this last year or the year before. It goes over a pringle container. I bought the pringles and now can't put my fingers on my pattern. I'm sure it is in an unfinished project bag.

I would :manyheart to see this one too. My oldest daughter wants to start collecting nutcrackers. She doesn't like crocheting, but I'd be glad to make one for her.

I would love to crochet a nutcracker! I've been collecting them almost 20 years! The first one I got was a birthday present from my best friend in high school. I never buy one for myself- they have all been gifts, but I could make one, huh? haha
