HAAHAHA.. here it is .... my AMAZING TECHNICOLOUR DREAM SHAWL!..

I used Holly's Butterfly WIng Shawl Pattern (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2815&highlight=butterfly+shawl+pattern)

Then I went into my stash and found the yarns I wanted to work with ..

I knew I was going to use some of the silk rayon that I have in My eBay store.. because I had a request to show what it would look like with other yarns.. so the search began .. and please let me tell you .. I am a freak about my colours matching perfectly.. so this was not an easy task.. and I still dont like the dark purple I chose.. its not an exact match but I refused to buy yarn for this project.. so .. here is the break down on yarn yardage..

dark electric purple (acrylic chenille ).. 150 yards..

granny smith green (rayon chenille) .. 150 yards

periwinkle blue (cotton chenille) ..150 yards

rayon silk blend 300yds.. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8200381368&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1)

tahki aqua blue cotton ..125 yds..

debbie bliss cashcotton .. 125 yds

AND I used my K Turn Of The Centruy hook .. in Tulip wood..

and here is the shawl !!

I think it looks kinda like what I'd say were Navajo colors.
Sorta southwestern. Know what I mean?

Thanks girls..

Is it really soft?

in response.. its not soft.. its BEYOND soft .. and light.. its not a heavy shawl even though it looks it.. the silk and the other yarns were not heavy.. i think the heaviest thing there would be the cotton chenille..

Yummmm .. that looks just decadent. I LOVE the multi yarn in there, and I concur that you did a great job picking colors that look great with it. I should have such a stash to choose from! One day ... :D

I love it. I think that it would look great with a pair of jeans, high boots, a black tanktop and some turquoise jewelry. Hmmm. I may have to work on one for myself. Great job!

I am not one for a lot of colors

Mary jo...

I am usually not either.. but some how this one just kind of spoke to me..

i think for myself I will make another with the cobalt blue.. red .. yellow.. and grassy green in there ...more primary .. with more silk and less solid.. but I have to find THE pattern for that.. I want one for me that is more lacy and not so long.. maybe more rounded down the back ..

I am so picky.. I will probably end up making a pattern for me LOL

Thanks again girls.. really boosts my ego (which has been a little dented lately.. ) and makes me feel good when you all appreicate what i do !!
