A reading group I joined on Ravelry plans to read A Christmas Carol this month. I was thinking just maybe I could do a knit or crochet project to go along with the book. Maybe a shawl or scarf. In the movie A Christmas Carol the Alastair Sim version I spotted a lot of what I think is knit and some I think crochet. I want to stick close to the time period. I think the Victorian age. Does anyone know of a site to find a free pattern or can you think of a pattern that would be close to that time period? I was thinking of using LionBrand Fishermans Wool if I can find something and get over my lazies when it comes to starting and finishing projects.:blush

I think that would be a cute idea to read the book and crochet something that goes along with it. I thought it was such a cute idea I downloaded the audio version from livrobox to my MP3 to listen to while I crochet. Not sure on a pattern, I don't remember that movie. If you find one that you like, please post it.Debbi

The other option is to make a Jacob Marley scarf out of a crochet chain: http://yarngirlscraftychristmas.blogspot.com/2008/07/how-to-crochet-festive-paper-chain-for.html ;)

If you want to do the chain, Lionbrand has one that looks more like chain:

Definitely more realistic "chain" on the Lion link. I had seen a similar knit one, but had not found a crochet one before. Thanks!
