I am soooo jealous. I went to Joanne's yesterday and found Rainbow Boucle. I paid $15 for one skein, and then find out others have bought it for $5-8 bucks. hmph
Anyway, I am looking for a pattern to make something with this cool EXPENSIVE yarn. I have looked online and have seen a lot of Seraphina shawls made with this yarn, but my skein is telling me it doesn't want to be a shawl. :think Does anyone know of a pattern using this kind of shaded yarn that my skein might like? Maybe a poncho.
I might go on ebay and get this skein a brother or sister for less than I paid at the store. I got the dark purple, but have seen the blue and pink online. Can't find the black I have seen mentioned.
Oh, I was kinda bad and bought some books and two skeins of homespun to make my boss a poncho. She made me do it.

Here is a Serafina Shawl that I made with the blue Rainbow Boucle. It used half a skein (which I found for $7...that makes this a $3.50 project!) :bounce

My JoAnn's just got some in yesterday... I'd looked for it a few weeks ago so I could send some to my SP but they didn't have any. I think it was $7.99/each. I would certainly be calling that JoAnn's and speaking with a manager about why it cost you $15!!!
So those of you who have been looking for it and couldn't find it, you might try again!
I don't think I'll be buying any for myself, though. I don't like the way it feels.

I haven't worked with this specific yarn, but I love making ponchos and shawls with boucle yarn. I have some coming from a wonderful friend (can't get it in Canada) and I am thinking of making a Seraphina too.:manyheart

I have made a poncho, 2 wristbags, a chicken, a scarf and a beautiful shawl (that I forgot to take a pic of before giving it away, wah!)

Hi, I'm new here and still trying to figure out how to negotiate this forum. I just bought 2 skeins of the boucle (dk blue and dk pink) and love your shawl pattern. Is it available anywhere?
Thanks,

I agree with Lynlee. I think I'd be having a fit over that $15. I don't think they price items differently from store to store. Go back and make the manager double check the price. If they won't fix it and you still want more I'd be happy to grab you some from my JoAnns. It's only $7.99 here too.
I bought some forever ago with the intention of turning it into a Seraphina shawl but just couldn't get the pattern right. I may just have to have one of those chickens though, lol. It's adorable!

Drew, Your shawl is beautiful. I bought some of this boucle but never thought about the Seraphina shawl. You just gave me some inspiration!

I always use my 40% off coupon for the rainbow boucle. Drew, I don't know how you got a 32" shawl with 1/2 skein? I made one 32" and one 29" and they used 3/4 skein. I've made a baby blanket out of the lt blue and it turned out really cute. I'd like to make a beret with my left overs, but am afraid the color change is too gradual for that small a project and I won't get the effect. Anybody else done something small with this stuff?

My store has it for 7.99...maybe it was mis-priced? Our store had quite a lot in stock.
I've been making shrugs and hats. :P

Going to try a beret today trimmed in twister yarn if I can decide on a pattern I like.
