I too am looking for this pattern book Award-Winning Afghans, leaflet #878301.
Does anyone out there have it? I am hoping to make the Cathedral afghan pattern with the crochet along gang. Is there a free pattern anywhere that resembles it either?:manyheart

There's nothing that resembles this afghan that I know of and no free pattern. The pattern is very hard to come by.

I think someone posted that they knew the designer (or did I imagine that?) Do you think she has extra copies she'd be willing to sell?

There are so many wonderful patterns that are out of print, yet in such high demand. It is surprising that publishers don't twig onto this and republish them. I wonder if there is anyone a person could contact to request a reprint of some patterns. You would think there is some money to be made if people on ebay are willing to pay such high prices for them. Just a thought.

I think Annie's Attic would be the ones to contact as it's their booklet! They more than likely bought the rights to the pattern from the designer. You would think they would want to make the money instead of letting other people get megabucks off of them on Ebay!

I contacted Annie's Attic about this very pattern and they were no help whatsoever. Basically said gee, so sorry, too bad so sad, it's out of print and we don't have any old copies and nope, can't help ya. It really kinda surprised me that they didn't have some kind of reprint service or something. Plus, I know for a fact that I'm not the first person to get in touch with them looking for this pattern; you'd think they'd twig that there's demand for it!

I think I must have really started something with this afghan - I posted a pic of the one I did on Craftster. I tell you what.... once you make that one it is difficult to get excited about making another afghan. I feel like I peaked.. ha ha ha. It does seem like there is a lot of buzz about that afghan lately since I posted my fo! I am tickled. I loved making it as frustrating as it was - there are a few oddly written spots in it that took me a few nights to figure out what in the heck did this or that mean- I was probably just tired at the end of the day in all reality!

Yes, it is hard to come by. If someone knows the designer, I would love to be put in touch with her - I would love to know how on earth she hung the dang thing behind that piano. It is very heavy - and huge. I don't know how she did it but would love to know. I originally bought the booklet to hang it above my foyer area. - dang cathedral ceiling -what better thing to hang than a cathedral window afghan.

I did make a change to the pattern though - the little round motifs the designer used 2 strand of yarn- I thought it make it silly bulky in those spots so I just used one strand.

This is one of the leaflets I have to list on eBay. I was going to start the bid at $9.99. If you want it at that price let me know. I don't know where I got it. It has a slightly musty smell but I think I can fix that other than that it is in pristine condition, I don't thinik it has ever been used.

Let me know.

Someone sent me an Ebay auction that ended in the last day or two, I don't remember. Anyway, this original Annie's Attic book that has this pattern in it sold for less than $8.00. Evidentally the seller didn't realize what she had, or not enough bidders saw it so the bidding didn't go up. Matter of fact, it was not advertised as cathedral windows pattern, they only put the name of the book, so she obviously didn't know what she had. Man, I wish I could get lucky enough to find a prize like that to sell, lol.

I sent you an email. Please let me hear from you. I would also like to see a copy of the original book. Is it Annie's Attic Award Winning Afghans? I think that is the book that the pattern is in, but don't know the year.
