HI all

My Granny has a crocheted couple in her kitchen that hangs on the wall....a man and a woman..about 7-8 inches tall each. their colors match. they have no faces and look like they stand sideways. the woman reminds me of hollie hobbie with the big bonnet. her dress looks like a triangle made in DC with an edging. my granny said an old woman in a nursing home made them long ago. i would love to find this pattern......anyone have anything similar??????????

thanks so much. :knit

Sounds to me like it's 'Sunbonnet Sue & Sam'! I forget Sam's full name although I know for a fact, her name is Sunbonnet Sue. You can do a search on Google for Sunbonnet Sue & Sam and see what comes up. I am pretty sure there is a pattern book for them but can't remember who it's from. I think I may have the pattern book. Give me a few minutes to check. I'll get back with you.

OK....Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Sam! I have 3 books: 2 are by Leisure Arts but only 1 is crochet. The crochet book is Leisure Arts and called "Sunbonnet Sue & Overall Sam, too!" designed by Ramona B. Chebli and it's afghans to crochet. The second book is also by Leisure Arts called "The Ultimate Sunbonnet Sue Collection; 24 Quilt Blocks Recapture the Charm of Yesterday's Sweetheart". The third book is by Oxmoor House and called "Sunbonnet Sue's Neighborhood; Quilts Made Easy" with 9 easy-to-make quilts, full-size patterns, complete step-by-step instructions.

Here's a link & picture of the crochet book I have. Sunbonnet Sue & Overall Sam (http://www.velona.com/items/036/B03673.html) Is this the same type of man & woman you are talking about?
