I am looking for a heart doily that consists of 2 pineapples. THe pineapples make up the two humps of the heart at the top. I've seen some on ebay in the past and always thought they were pretty. Does anyone have the pattern or know where I can find it?

Thanks!:think

HI yarnlover there was one available on the web some years back but I can't seem to find it now. However Marie from TheCrocheter'sTreasureBox on MSN groups has just designed one for the groups mini doily "get creative with the edging kinda" group project. You need to be a member there to get the pattern. I shall however ask her and let you know if its ok to share here.

I didn't see a heart doily made from the pineapples on either site, but there sure are a lot of pretty ones. I'm going to definitely add that one to my favorites. Thanks. Maybe someone else can come up with the pattern for me still. I'm hoping!

That is pretty, but it is just one heart with consisting of two rather large pineapples and then there is like a shell trim around the outside edge. Hmmm! I hope someone can find it for me. I think they are pretty.

I saw one in a shop about 3-4 hours from my house and didn't buy one because I thought I'd find the pattern somewhere. Should have bought one!

Next time you see one on EBay, try emailing the seller to ask the origin of the pattern.

Some sellers are most helpful!

Is this kinda like it? i made this a while back. It was in a doily book called something like Hearts Delight Doilies or something like that. I'll look when i get home to see if something closer to your description is in there.

I have something similar but it was used to make heart shaped pillows - came from a LA book I think.

Maybe I can describe it. It starts out at the bottom point with shells and as it goes up and gets wider it splits into two pineapples. Those make the two humps on the top of the heart.

I'll look at the book I have at home - I think I may have this but like I said it may be a pillow front.

I think I have this pattern at home. I remember working on it and running out of thread at the top of the second pineapple. I am on my way home now and will definitely look for this for you. Think positive!

Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone! If I can't find it, perhaps I can play around with some thread someday and come up with my own pattern. I've never done that before and wouldn't even know how to begin! My fingers are crossed that someone comes across the pattern. Think positive!:think

Here is the doily I saw on ebay that I love so much. After reading her write up more closely I see that it is "her own creation". I doubt that she'll give it to me. I love it and just want to make one. I emailed her to see if she'd share. I'll let you know, but still if anyone comes up with a pattern please let me know. It hink they are so pretty. What do you think?

In all my years of crocheting, I've never crocheted anything without a pattern. I am saving a picture of it and maybe if I look at it often I can figure out what stitches she did. I don't want to make them to sell like she is. I just want one for my house and maybe to make for gifts. I just think it is so pretty.

I've got some projects to get ready for the fair and then I might try to sit down and figure it out if I don't hear back from the designer.

:yay I heard from Marie at CTB .. Here is what she says. I hope I have not messed with any rules here..
Hi Vims,

by all means you may share, i write my pattterns just for that purpose, to get others to try and be a little more creative on their own.

i hope you enjoy the pattern, looking forward to seeing how you finish off yours.

hope your friend likes it too, would enjoy seeing how she would finish it off too.

I totally agree with Mary. I appreciate you contacting the orginial designer. That doily is exquisite! And I am impressed that it wasn't even blocked to lay straight. I wish I had that kind of talent and patience for that matter.:blush

The pattern that is posted here is not the exact doily pattern in the picture I posted. BUT it is so close it can be adapted to look like the one in the picture. I contacted the actual designer of this one and she said that she does not have her pattern written down it is only scratchings on a notepad and she has never gotten them written up to even sell. BUT she thanked me for my interest in her doily. I took the picture and blew it up and printed it off. I think I might be able to tell enough to make my own replica.

I emailed the person who put this up on ebay. I wanted to know if she was considering selling the pattern. Here is the answer I received:

Good morning and thank you for the meail. I am actually thinking about doing that in the future. I have only just started to design my own doilies in the last 6 months or so, so I have to find the time to look into it as well as do it. It won't be soon, but hopefully one day. Thank you for the interest, Wes and Cheryl.

Guess we will have to either try to figure it out using the pineapple doily pattern posted on this forum or wait til she comes out with her own pattern.
