Mary Jane's book features a number of crochet fashions and accessories that are soft, shaped, and drapeable----yet achieve the shaping without use of increases or decreases. Mary Jane uses three different techniques to give her patterns their fabulous shaping: graduated stitch method (using stitches of different heights and even hooks of different sizes in the same row), side-to-side construction, and stitching through the back loop only (for extra stretch and drapeability).

Crochet That Fits covers a wide range of garments and accessories: capelets, hats, a skirt, a dress, several sweaters/tops, slippers, scarves, headbands, several children's items, purses, and more!

My favorite things to crochet are garments that I can wear over and over again. The cover of Crochet That Fits features a wonderful little black dress made from #3 light worsted-weight yarn that I am just dying to make. Other favorite designs include the Cap-Sleeve Top, Balletneck Sweater with long sleeves, and the Striped, Sleeveless Turtleneck Sweater.

Another great thing about this book is that Mary Jane includes sizes from XS to 3X for most of her clothing. Women of larger size who find it difficult to find crochet patterns to fit that don't require lots of alteration will find fashionable, trendy designs in this book that will require little alteration.

Because of the shaping involved, most patterns tend to fit close to the figure without being too tight. For those who like their clothes with a little more wearing ease, sizing up to a larger size should be fairly easy.

(Awaiting permission from publisher to add some photos of finished items from the book.)

Just ordered mine, can hardly wait until it gets here. So excited to start making more clothes for myself that will be easier to make with a more comfortable fit.

I got mine through Amazon.com.
I like the idea of the patterns having one type of pattern or stitch and giving you the option of making various styles and pieces from it. Also that different yarns are used and you are not confined to one yarn or color.
There is something in the book for everyone, from beginner to advanced.
For someone looking for a way to make wearables with a minimum of effort and seams, that is comfortable as well as attractive, this is a must have.
