Mom w/a Motif

I am trying to add buttons to my new/old blog, I used to be able to do it. I don't know what I am doing wrong. This is what I have for my button to show up on the sidebar:
<a href="http://timelesscreations.blogspot.com/">img (http://<a%20href=/) src="http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y12/TPryst/timelesscreations.jpg">hspace="1"</a><li (http://<a%20href=/)>

That's basically what is showing up in the sidebar, and it made everything go down underneath the blog. ? Does anyone know what I should do to fix it? I have tried reading about HTML, and tried reading about buttons in the forums here, but I either get more confused, or just don't understand it... :help

Thank you for any help in advance... :)

Okay edited to say I think I figured it out. :P

I tried it, Debi. Now there is a red x in a box, and it is still to the side of the other button. I did have it one on top of the other, but, it said "Take My Button" to the right of them. I was trying to get it on top of my button.. Well I will keep messing with it... Thanks

Yeah, you're missing the opening "<" on your img tag. You also want the hspace="1" inside the image tag, not after it. The <li> is out of place/unusual... is your buttons supposed to be inside a list?

I don't know what I'm doing, is all. I have the buttons one on top of each other, if I have "take my buttons written in between them. I will keep trying, thanks everyone! :manyheart
