Are you looking for some hip, stylish, very fashion-forward sexy patterns to make for yourself? Then look no further than Doublestitch. Erika and Monika are sisters from the Chicago area who started their Double Stitch clothing and accessories line in 2002. This book features a number of designs from their clothing line.

The book is divided into two main sections. The first section, Out and About, features a number of projects suitable for casual daytime wear that can be partnered with jeans and layered over t-shirts. The second section, Paint the Town, features projects for evening wear.

Many of the fashions in this book will definitely appeal more to the younger crowd, but there are still a number of patterns that were very appealing to this over-40 crocheter! I passed around the book to some friends at church and their young daughters, and everyone found at least several designs that they really liked.

I made the Shrunken Jacket pattern out of Malabrigo Silky Merino wool and wore it to CGOA's Chain Link annual conference in July 2008:

One word of caution: I found the instructions to the Shrunken Jacket to be sort of confusing, as the stitch counts didn't seem to be working out to what the book said. I'm still not sure if that was just me or not. However, once I decided to just ignore what the book said for the ends of a couple rows and just do whatever looked right to me, I was able to make things work out just fine.

I also have the T-necktop pattern as a work-in-progress, and I haven't noticed any problems at all with the instructions for that pattern.
