Anyone ever crochet an afghan using the diagonal box stitch or regular box stitch? I thought I would try one (like I don't have any other crochet projects to work on!!!!!:eek )

Can someone send me pictures of these if you have any? Also a link to the patterns? :knit

That is an old standby in our family. My favorite was one I made for my husband in 3 row stripes of burgundy, rose and white, and edged in burgundy. My mother uses up all her scrap yarn making them, too. Kind of eclectic, but oddly pretty, sort of like the quilts my grandma used to make that were so special because you could identify the clothing that contributed to it (oh, that was my favorite dress when I was 10, that's Dad's shirt, etc.). I've also used the pattern to make many shawls.

Of course w. decrease rows these can be easily turned into an afghan. It's a very quick, enjoyable stitch to do.
