I'm looking for cute Japanese doll patterns (NOT all the popular anime characters like Yu-Gi-Oh or Inyuasha - ugh!) I want:

-Hello Kitty characters

-sumo

-Pucca characters

-Ami/Yumi

-etc. preferably these would be in ENGLISH!! =)

There's not much free stuff if that's what you're looking for, because of licensing.

Hello Kitty, sort of:

Amigurumi Bunny

If you search through here, you'll probably find something. They like things like that and tend to share their patterns:

I'm not confident or educated enuf to turn a graph into a stuffed item - I've never even made toys before so I was hoping for something to follow!! :D

For Hello Kitty, take a look at this thread.

I've been really into these little critters lately too, and what I'm finding is most of them are just balls, or rounded cones, or oblong (weenie)shapes, all done in the round, and then you sew the bits together and add features with embroidery or felt. You could start with a hacky sack ball pattern or there are a ton of teddy bear patterns you could modify too. Make their heads ginormous or their ears pointy, etc. You could crochet a tiny pillow and give it arms, legs and a face and it would be really cute!
