Has anyone heard of a snuggle blanket. I think thats what my daughter called it. Its a blanket with arms so you can be wrapped up and still have arm movement. Think she saw it on tv. Does anyone know if there is a pattern for such a thing? If not where would you begin as far as making the blanket and placement of the sleeves?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It's called a snuggie - (the one from TV) I actually have something called a SLANKET and LOVE it, but sorry, don't know of a pattern - maybe someone else can help you.
Good Luck,

my neighbor bought some for christmas gifts. they are cheap looking! just fleece blankets with arms then you pay extra for pockets. I would think that you could just take a sweater pattern or a cardi and keep going on the length of it adding more to the sides of it to make wider as you go.then have the opening in the back. Then you can put pockets on after you have it made

I'd just either make a cardigan or a robe and increase length and width then where it backwards.
Or make a cardigan/robe and add a blanket pattern to it from under the arms at some point.
Be sure to make the cardigan/robe a size or two larger than normal.

I found one today on the Lion web site, HomespunŽ Crochet Sweater Blanket. I have to say I think making one out of fleece would be a whole lot easier!

Bernat has both a crocheted and a knitted version. This is the link to the crocheted one. They call it a Wrap-ghan. Click here. (http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=4045)

Thanks for all the great ideas, I have a son leaving for college in the fall and think I'll make him one out of fleece with his college's mascot. then if he falls alseep on a sofa somewhere, he'll be "snuggly".:clap
P.S. I'm also going to make one for myself! No more struggling to stay warm and crochet out here on the plains during the winter.:hook

I would think it would be cheaper to just buy it already made. The time and money that it would take to make it to me would not be worth it, easier to buy it. But thats just me, I could never use it I like to be cold I would have it on and in 5 minutes would be way too hot.

Thanks I got the pattern from Bernat last week. My daughter is so excited. I'm not looking foward to making such a big project in the warm weather. I'm going to start it after I finish my current projects. My daughter already went through my yarn and selected her colors. It will be colorful. I'll post pictures.

I made 17 of these last christmas for ages of 1 to 37 what I did was used this pattern that was listed in the forum http://www.sissonfamily.com/Sewingro...thesnuglet.pdf
i bought soft blanket throws and cut the arm area out then what I did was purchase sweaters of all sizes cut the sleeves off above the seam line and sewed them to the arm openings made in about 20 mins for my 1 yr old grandbaby i used an entire zip up sweatshirt and put the arms of it in the holes and sewed on this way she could wear it in a car seat also
