Katchkan has a dragon filet but I don't know if it's welsh. Do you have a link to what a welsh dragon looks like?

I think this is the dragon she's looking for.

There is a site that will convert an image into a graph so you can do a graphgan. I don't know what it is off hand since I have never used it or made one. Another method of turning the image into a graph is to print out the picture, and overlay a piece of graph paper with squares small enough to capture the necessary detail and tape the two of them onto a lighted background (windows work well) and color or shade the squares to match the picture. You could also do the picture in fillet and not have to worry about the colors. It just depends on what you want. I'm sure there are lots of people on here who can help more than I can. You might also look for cross stitch patterns for it. The graph can be used for a graphgan or fillet so you don't have to worry about making one.

Hi,
Here's a link to a dragon here on crochetville. It's filet croceht and worked form a graph.

You should check with Patty there. She may be able to direct you to a pattern.
Happy crocheting, good luck,

Forestergirl.
Thank you for the link it is indeed the right picture I am looking for. Now all I need is to somehow get that picture in the form of a Blanket pattern that I can crochet in wool? sorry to be farming out all the hard work but to be honest this is my second time on a computer and am learning slowly how and where to find things so all the help I can get is really gratefully appreciated
Regards
Sue

There's a good coloring page here to use to make a graph through the site craziebunny listed: http://www.dltk-kids.com/t.asp?b=m&t=http://www.dltk-kids.com/world/wales/csdd5.gif

Here is a link to the Long Tailed Dragon in filet. If used with worsted weight yarn it can be used in a afghan. Not sure if it's the one for you though:
