I am re-posting this as a new thread. I am a newbie at this and kind of buried it in the "shell stitch" thread.
Hope I am doing this correctly.

Also, thanks to craziebunny for putting me on to Happy Yellow House, which really helped me with the pattern. Now I just need to identify whether the border is dk brown or black and an opinion on what the varigated yarn color might be.

Here is the website for a better picture:

Thanks for listening, everyone.

This is a Mary Maxim kit. I am wondering if anyone has the kit that could tell me what yarn colors were included in the kit.

I have lost my job and my family has no income other than unemployment. I would like to make this as a Christmas gift for next year but cannot afford to buy the kit.

I am hoping just to wing it on the pattern but really need to know how much and what color yarn is in the kit as I have to use what is already in my yarn stash. No new yarn buys for me.

Crocheting helps me keep my mind off the unpaid bills.

Thanks.

Here is a similar pattern that is free:
http://happyyellowhouse.com/htm/atw.html

So you could use any colors you already have.

Blessings,

I know I could do any color. But call me stupid....these colors in this afghan and the way they are arranged is just so striking, that I want to use the same scheme.

thanks for the reply.

Just from looking at the picture I would say that is black around the edging and that the varigated looks like a "camo" varigated yarn. Just my opinion tho...that afghan is beautiful and I would do it in the same colors as well!
