I'm new and hope you can help. In the movie "Meet Dave" Elizabeth Banks wears a form-fitting vest that I loved. Cap sleeves, deep V neck (worn over T-shirt). Buttoned at an empire waist height with the remainder under the waist in an open filet type stitch. Above looked like tight single crochet. Very flattering instead of the squarish and (sad to say) baggy look so often in vests. Have you seen this or anything like it? Thanks!

Do you have a screen shot/pic of it? It sounds very pretty!

Sorry, but according to our copyright guidelines, screen shots couldn't be shown in a post here.

There's probably a legitimate movie website somewhere that has a variety of screenshots, posted in compliance with copyright law. If somebody finds a screenshot on a site like that, it can be posted in the thread. If anybody wants to post a link and you're not sure if the site fits our guidelines, just send the link to me in a PM first and I'll let you know.

Thanks Amy - I hadn't even thought of looking for links to pics of the vest. I found a couple-->

See the center pic--it is small but you get to see it from the full front:

This one shows the back nicely:

This link is to one that is kind of a close up of the front, top half. Now I see that were were pearl buttons on the left side of the front, so I guess it could be buttoned up, but doubt it is really meant to be.

Also shows the back:

Again, any pattern similar to this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks! That's the fit, yes, although I kind of liked the way the one in the movie was a tighter stitch at the top and then that kind of looser, net-like stitch after the empire waist closing. But a great start toward what I like!
