I'm looking for a pretty but simple baby blanket pattern with a border. I need detailed directions. I have a couple of Terry Kimbrough's books and a couple of others, but everything seems pretty complicated with 8 or 10 rows for the borders. I need something that is pretty since it is for a gift but simple and would like a pretty (maybe either a shell or ruffle) border. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Caron's website has a pretty baby blanket.

This is very easy and very pretty in whatever color you do it in! I use this pattern a lot.

I don't do the 'chain' ribbon lace that is tied on with a bow though. I don't like the idea that a baby may pull it up and get it caught in it.

This pattern is very pretty and after reading through it, seems to be fairly easy:

That is pretty. I don't know how I've missed it in my search but thank you.

This is my go-to blanket (http://www.michaels.com/art/online/projectsheet?pid=25414). I've made several in all sorts of different yarns. It's a very easy pattern and works up quickly because the body is all v-stitches worked into a chain space, so no hunting for the tops of stitches. :)

Here is the one I did for a cousin I just didn't do all the squares so that it was baby sized.
