Hi Cordelia, nice doily! :cheer I think I've made a similar one a looooong time ago. When I was a beginner in crochet a doily project gives me gratifying results in a short time. I used to purchased Japanese crochet books (back then when it wasnt so expensive), because they had the prettiest designs. I got used to following charts and diagrams because of this. :)
