"Send private message" from main screen

I would love to have a "send private message" from the main screen.

I seem to send alot of PM's and would find that feature useful

I would like that, too. Unfortunately, I don't think that has been programmed in to vBulletin, and I'm not sure we'd be able to rewrite code to make it happen. Donna would have to check into that.

I may be able to do this. How about in the Quick Links dropdown menu under the Miscellaneous heding, just below Private Messages have a link that says Send New PM?

I just noticed that there was a Private Message link from Quick Links - I never even went into that.

I think it would be the same amount of key strokes to select Private Message and then Send a Message

as it would be to select

Quick Links and then Send a Message

Well, in Quick Links, when you select Private Messages, then you get to the Private Messages screen and have to scroll down until you get to the Send New Message link in the left-hand menu. I think that's more work than having an actual Send New PM link in the Quick Links menu.

Where were you thinking of having the "send private message" from the main screen? I am open to ideas!

Originally I wrote that there is more scrolling when you select Private Message but wasn't sure if it made sense and then you wrote the same thing
