Creating a favicon for Crochetville had been on our To-Do list, and we also received a suggestion for it.
We installed the favicon about a month ago in early January, so it isn't entirely new. But not everyone may have noticed the discussion in Board Help, so we're announcing it here now. If you can't see the favicon, see this thread (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=89657) for help.
A favicon is a little 16x16 icon for a web site that appears in your browser URL bar and in your list of bookmarked favorites. Our new favicon will help you more easily see Crochetville in your bookmarks. If you use tabbed browsing, it will also be easier to see which tabs are Crochetville. And as adagio said (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=89657&p=1584994), if you have a bunch of Crochetville tabs open, you will "have a row of crochet hooks marching across [your] browser!"
Their small size makes favicons notoriously difficult from a design perspective. After designing, experimenting, and reworking, I was finally able to make it clearly visible. With some advice from Amy, I finally settled on a diagonal hook, facing right, with the throat facing down. 291 We hope you enjoy it!
