I have the patterns for these somewhere but for the life of me I can't find them. (Hope one of my girls hasn't run off with it.) Anyway, the patterns are about 20 years old now and they are the crochet slipper patterns from Annies Attic that have the Mary Janes, Keds sneakers, work boots, cowboy boots and another red shoe one. These are for adults and I really need to make some of these for gifts. (Promised, before I knew they were missing.) I called Annies Attic and were told they are no longer in print so I am looking to buy another set [original pattern, not a copy] if someone has them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:worried:cry Thanks in advance

You could try E-bay & see if the pattern is there. That is where I have got a few patterns lately. The nice thing is I haven't had to bid against anyone, so that has been really nice too. There are a lot of Annies Attic patterns there.

Thank you but I already looked and they have the baby ones but not the adult. There is a site I went to that says if you have the number of the patterns, you can notify Annie's Attic and they may reissue if there is enough interest. But so far I don't even have that. Anyone out there have the number of the adult set???

These are not Annie's Attic but they have many free patterns to look at.

Even if patterns are no longer in print, the copyright is still binding. On one hand you can understand how important it is to designers to have their copyright enforced but I know I was really frustrated when I couldn't get copies of my greatgrandparents wedding photos made and I'm 51!

About the wedding photos: If you have a printer, scanner, you can make your own copies. I made some pictures of my grandparents for my kids at Kinkos. I just copied them myself. You can adjust how big you want them. Some things are just silly!!!! I had also wanted to get mine copied and they refused. The price for them to copy was about 20.00 each. My price was about 1.00.

I always thought those were copyrighted too and you need permission even if they are pictures of you or your family that someone else took.

#1 Thank you guys for your help with the out of print slippers. I can't believe I just now found my original patterns. Thanks to you girls, I found out the name of the pattern packs and requested a reprint from Annie's Attic. I think they would still be a great seller. I do have the "Big Foot Boutique #2. The first one was called Big Foot Boutique which I don't have but found someone willing to sell them to me.

As for the copying of my grandparents pictures, Copyright or no, the original photographer is long gone as are my grandparents. Sometimes, common sense has to take over. Its far more important to me to have my children have pictures of their ancestors.

I always thought those were copyrighted too and you need permission even if they are pictures of you or your family that someone else took.

The copyright for all photographs is owned by the photographer, unless the photographer has released rights to someone else. That is why Kinko's refused to make the copies for the customer.

Some Kinko's will also refuse to let the customer make the copies him/herself on their self-serve equipment. Others just let the customer go ahead and do it, knowing that it would be the customer to be sued in that case.

So even if a friend took pictures of your family, your friend owns the copyright to those photos. However, if you go in with the digital image or a printed non-professional photo, the store doesn't have any way to know whether or not you're the copyright holder or not.

It's much more obvious you're not the copyright holder in the case of professional photos that are printed with the photographer's/studio's name on them.

Even though the Annie's Attic pattern is out of print, it is still subject to copyright protection. That means it would be copyright infringement to make copies and distribute them without the permission of Annie's Attic.

It would also be a violation of our forum guidelines to 1) make copies and distribute them and 2) request that somebody else make a copy for you.

I have found the slipper patterns that I thought were lost. Thank you for your help. I did email Annies Attic about reissueing them. I do think they would sell.
