I would like to make my nephew and his fiance an afghan for their wedding so I'm looking for some good patterns. Any favorites you'd like to share?

There are some gorgeous wedding afghans out there and some that aren't wedding but would look great as one. I have a few that I like. My favorite would be more for her. It is located here and is only 1.99.
For her? http://www.e-patternscentral.com/detail.html?prod_id=4209

The other two are free and are located here

For both? http://www.coatsandclark.com/c gi-bin/MsmGo.exe?grab_id=497&page_id=15795968&query=wt1647&hiword=wt1647+

and then one more is located here http://www.freepatterns.com/list.html?cat_id=300 and is the lovers knot afghan.
They all work up really beautiful and you can use the white or off/white or got with the colors of the wedding.
Hope this helps

If you want to get really ambitious, you could do the 63 squares afghan in white, or in some other color scheme that you know they'd like.

I made a spider web one in off white for one wedding afghan.

I absolutely love to use the Fisherman's Ring square - it works up REALLY fast and the whole circle in a circle is really kind of symbolic when you think about it - okay, intertwined would be a bit more suitable - which I have also done but I love the fisherman's ring more... and sadly the site where it was is gone! Hometown shut down!!

Updated:
I used the ******* machine and got the link for you! but of course it does not load..
So go to the ******* machine and here is the link you need to have it search on and it will take you right to it!
Oh and the link for the ******* machine as well :) Okay. The ******* machine link does not click when I type it in either. Okay.. IF you are intetested in the fisherman's ring - do a quick google search for the ******* machine and then copy the address (don't click on it - it will take you to a dead end) that I have here and then you will be able to get the pattern :)

here's a link to Priscilla's new site

the fisherman's ring square (mentioned in the post above) can be found in afghan squares.
there also many other very pretty patterns available for free on the site.

here's a link to the wedding ring quilt on coats and clark (looks ambitious!)

I made a sampler ghan in an off white color for my cousin. I do like the other patterns suggested as well!

I've done 3 and 4 strand (Q hook) ghans using the couple's fave color or wedding colors, (as opposed to the 3SUB with random colors). they get a cozy 'ghan then. That said, I've also seen--but not made--a cute "cutwork" afghan, I think it was in an old CrochetWorld mag (maybe 2 years ago?)...that done in white would be fantastic. It is motifs, but I think it's "join as you go". something like that might be nice too. :)

blanket in the shape of a heart (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=95835&highlight=heart) -link to someone who was looking for one. There is one in a catalog but also a doily that someone suggested you could make into an afghan. One lady said she made the heart afghan for a wedding gift.

My Heart Belongs to Baby (blankie) (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=92924&highlight=heart)
This one is for a doll, but darksi gives the stitches so you could make it larger. It's rows of hearts. Very cute.

Or you could find heart squares if you want a portable project.

Hi Theresa!
The one Fritzerbear just posted would be nice for a wedding gift!
http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=96230

I found two lovely ones in my books:
In Herrschnerr's Blue Ribbon Afghans, the "Diamonds and Rings" one would be very symbolic....
In Best of Terry Kimbrough Afghans, the "Loving Hearts" one is beautiful. The border is hearts!

And the wedding ring quiltghan is great for a gift: http://www.coatsandclark.com/Crafts/Crochet/Projects/AfghansThrows/WT1647+Wedding+Ring+Quilt.htm

I also came across this thread and thought it might help: http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=92210&highlight=wedding+afghan
