Super easy triangle shawl/scarf in thread

Hey guys, I got this crazy silly super insane idea that I want to make my friend a triangle scarf that she can tie around her waist for her belly dancing performances. I have never done a thread project before, and I want something as easy as can be but still pretty.

If anyone has any ideas, I will gladly take them. :yes
