About the Crochet Business Center (CBC)
When the CBC opens on April 6, 2009, it will be a new forum on Crochetville where owners of small, independent crochet-related businesses can interact, discuss running a business, share information, and support each other. Business examples include Etsy shops, eBay shops, blog-based sellers, craft show exhibitors, and more.
Why a Crochet Business Center?
We created the CBC because we saw that small crochet business owners wanted to talk with each other on Crochetville about their businesses, but this often conflicted with our policy (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/advertise_free.php) that does not allow free advertising on the forum. (While we very much want crochet businesses to succeed, one of the primary ways that we are able to bring Crochetville to you is through paid advertising.) By making most parts of the CBC accessible to crochet business owners only, we have created a place that is not subject to our free advertising policy (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/advertise_free.php) and thus discussion can take place freely.
In addition, both as a company and as individuals, Donna and I are committed to supporting crochet. We are happy when we see crochet thriving, and we want to be a part of helping that happen. Providing the Crochet Business Center is another way for us to support crochet, which is part of our mission at Crochetville.
What's the difference between the CBC and Professionals Place?
Professionals Place (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=121) is a forum on Crochetville for established crochet professionals. Those who meet the requirements (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=82668) and are accepted into Professionals Place will also automatically have access to the Crochet Business Center (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=277). Although both the CBC and Professionals Place require credentials to join, the CBC requirements are easier to meet, especially for those who are new to the crochet business.
Access to the CBC
Access to Crochetville's CBC is entirely free of charge, however it is limited to those who are currently operating a crochet-related business and those who are actively working towards starting a crochet-related business.
To apply, please read How to Request Access to the CBC (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=97562). By requesting access to the CBC, you agree to the CBC Policies (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=97561).
