Pattern Suggestion Box

I was thinking...The "ville" should have a "pattern suggestion box". Other members could write what pattern they would like a pattern for. They could say what their image is and one person could tell them what their image is, and if the person likes it...he/she could ask them to write a pattern for it. Good or dumb idear?:think

Thats a REALLY good idea!!!!!!!!! I am always saying I need a pattern for "whatever" , but I cant work out HOW to do it myself , or find one . We have soooooooo many talented hookers here , I am sure they would love the chance to battle out patterns (well , I am hoping they would , lol )

I'm not sure how well this would work in practice. Most people who create a custom pattern upon request are likely going to want compensation for that. If somebody goes to the time and effort, using their well-honed skills, to create a custom pattern for someone else, it would only be fair for them to be paid for their investment, don't you think?

Of course, there might be some members who would want to do this just for the challenge of it and would be willing to post their pattern (here or on their own site) for free, but that shouldn't be expected.

We can think about this. It might be good to hear from some designers as to whether they would be comfortable creating patterns like this for free or if they would expect to be paid for their time and effort.

Etsy has something similar to this idea. I think it's called alchemy. There is a charge for it, if I remember right.
