A friend of mine is probably going to south America next year. So she´ll be needing light clothes for her baby.
So I´m looking for baby clothes made with size 20 or 10 thread. :)

Crochet Garden does many light weight baby clothes:

I believe Lulabies and Lace does too:

You'll find a few at e-patterns:

A few at free patterns:

Possibly some at CPC:

I believe Celtwich has a few:

You can try Ravelry and don't forget magazines.

Thank you .:) Are you sure I can use size 20 or 10 thread?
Oh, I forgot to say that the baby will be about 6 months when they´re in south america...

You'll have to check each pattern to be sure.
I do know that Lisa at CG uses a lot of size ten thread or equivalent.

most of these are thread.
in case you didn't know fingering and baby weight yarn is the same gauge as #10 thread;
sports weights is equal to 2 strands #10 thread; lt. worsted is 4 strands.
also a worsted weight cotton would work well in that climate.

Thank you! No, I didn´t know that about the different gauges. I have made some clothes in dk cotton already, but want to make something thinner too since the climate here are very different from south america that time of year.
Do you know of any patterns where they have used size 20 thread too?

as i recall there were very few patterns done in size 20 thread [that would be vintage patterns since it was the 50's and before when people used such small size thread for patterns]. size 20 thread was mainly used in tatting or doilies. so not many baby patterns even then. most used size 10, or baby or fingering yarn.
i dont have any source for patterns using thread that small.

No, I have also noticed that there aren´t many patterns for wearables for fine thread. I have seen som bonnets for babies (and one christening dress) and gloves and hats for women. And lots and lots of doilies. If I was more experienced maybe I could made some patterns myself.

I appreciate that you explained the different yarn thicknesses for me :) I have recently learned that what I thought was size 10 thread here, may be more like size 20. They don´t use the terms "size 10, 20, 30" and so on here.
