Hi! This is my first full-sized triangular shawl (first time I made fringes too)! I made this using one strand of mercerized crochet cotton. I got the pattern from manidifata.com as mentioned in my previous blog post here (http://mycrochetstuff.blogspot.com/2005/05/mani-di-fata-shawl-and-cloche-trendy.html). I also wrote a few "tips" (http://mycrochetstuff.blogspot.com/2005/07/making-ivory-shawl.html) on making this shawl. :hook Thanks for looking!

Hi, thanks to everyone who made comments here! :D
If you want to make the "ivory shawl" I have the following tips: :hook
*print the mani di fata free pattern (http://www.manidifata.com/InRegalo.cfm?Cod=53&lingua=2)(make sure it's in english...:heehee)
*have thread specified in pattern or * have 4 balls (50gms each) of size 10 mercerized cotton thread (I used Monaco (http://mymonaco.blogspot.com/2005/07/crochet-cotton.html) ...;))
*use a 2.5mm hook as specified in pattern or *3.00mm hook as I did, for a finished size of about 110 x 182 cm
*this seems to work up fast, but not when you're in the middle...:whew
*think of the end result - this is a pretty shawl! ;)
*have a little patience, and some more...:blink
*when you're done crocheting the shawl, try to have fun making the fringes - its worth it! :faint
*finally, praise yourself and enjoy the beautiful shawl or find someone who will! :clap

I so adore that! It would be right up my alley too...since I love thread and don't mind working with it for hours.
