View Full Version : Afghan is finally finnished!

Well I finally finnished it. I've been working on this granny afghan for over a year now for myself. This is my first and last granny square afghan. I didn't mind making the squares, it was crocheting them together that drove me crazy, which is why it took so long. It is made of Bernat satin in light purple, dark purple and ivory. I don't remember the exact names but its very soft and cozy, definately worth the time spent putting it together. I love it so much. So here it is:

Putting squares together is one of those things ... some people are kinda meh about it, some people actually enjoy it, some people (you and me both, Manda!) just don't. But wow did that afghan turn out great; and in Bernat Satin no less, I bet it feels decadent. Sometimes it's worth the pain, eh?

Congrats on finishing! I too did a granny afghan and thought "never again" because of stitching the squares together. :)

Thanks everyone for all the kind comments. I have made a zillion afghans in the past, but this is my first granny afghan (besides a single, giant traditional granny square throw, which was my first crochet project way back. lol). I'm glad to have your approval on this one! :manyheart

Oh yes, and the colors are even prettier in person...the yarn has a pretty sort of shine that just sets them off.:fluffy

wow that is gorgeous! Of course it is all about purple for me :)

lol it is even so bad, that when I am in a city, and point out a garment to my husband he goes(not even looking at it by the way): "it must be purple" :D

Granny squares are not really that bad to stitch together....it is quite fun once you get the knack to do it.
