This is a VERY simple pattern. you just need to know the afghan stitch. I'd say that this size is a M/L it fits my 1 yr old. its kinda snug but still fits. I should have done a few more stitches in the chain... OR I should have done a gauge swatch....
This was born out of wanting an overnight soaker. the thought of the Afghan stitch came to mind and I had not seen ANY soakers done in the tunisian style That cinched it I HAD TO make one!
with WW wool and what said 5.5 MM hook (afghan hook) it said "H" but I know normally 5.5 mm is "I"... I am still confused here but its a Boye afghan hook
I started with a ch that I thought would fit my LO and I added 5 ch....add 10 I think LOL.
anyway ch 70
do afghan st for 4 rows this creates a nice rolled edge on the top.
ch 1 and DC across (drawstring row)
ch 1 turn and SC across (this gets you back to right side)
1~ work one row of afghan st even.
2~ do a Tunisian decrease (treat 2nd and 3rd bar as one) work across to last 3 bars decrease work 1 st. (this makes it match since the first st is not worked)
Alternate these two rows until you have no sts to work. finish off. (its a triangle) fold up the tip to fit under the SC row and sew it up. about half way. I added cuffs to mine. you can do any kind of cuff. For drawstring I did a base row (one row) of afghan st. I did not count my sts. I just kept going until it wrapped around the soaker and had enough for a bow.
I did one row of SC around leg opening and then did Front post back post HDC alternate for 2 rows makes ribbing... Personally I hate to work it but I LOVE the look of it!
