Mushroom pattern
Please let me know if you find any errors. I have not had this tested.
The mushroom is hollow. There is a lid that buttons shut.

Mushroom
Supplies:
Small amounts of WW yarn
F Hook
Button for lid closing
Extra buttons, sequence, ect for decorating (optional)
Terms used
Sc = single crochet
Sc-dec = single crochet decrease over 2 stitches
Ch = chain
FO = Finish off, or Fasten off
Slp st = slip stitch
BLO = Back Loops Only
Stem
Stem is done in one continous spiral.
Ch 2
1) 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook. (6 sc)
2) 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc)
3) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc) repeat around (18 sc)
4) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc) repeat around (24 sc)
5) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next 3 sc) repeat around (30 sc)
6) In BLO, sc in each sc around.
7) Working in both loops, sc in each sc around
8) (sc-dec, sc in next 2 sc) repeat around, ending with sc-dec in last 2 sc (22 sc)
9-10) sc in each sc around
11) (sc-dec, sc in next 2 sc) repeat around, ending with sc-dec in last 2 sc, (16 sc)
12-14) sc in each sc around
Slp st to next sc,
FO leaving long enough tail to sew to mushroom body
If you want mushroom to stand up by itself, fill 1/3 to ½ full with poly pellets, or other weighted beads. Stuff remainder of stem
Mushroom main body
Mushroom is done in one contious spiral
Ch 2,
1) 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook. (6 sc)
2) 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc)
3) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc) repeat around (18 sc)
4) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc) repeat around (24 sc)
5) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next 3 sc) repeat around (30 sc)
6) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next 4 sc) repeat around (36 sc)
7) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next 5 sc) repeat around (42 sc)
8-10) sc in each sc around
Sewing stem to bottom of mushroom is easiest if you do it here. Sew in center of mushroom completed this far.
11) (sc-dec, sc in next 4 sc) repeat around. (35 sc)
12) sc in each sc around
13) (sc-dec, sc in next 3 sc) repeat around (28 sc)
14) sc in each sc around
15) (sc-dec, sc in next 2 sc) repeat around (21 sc)
Slp st to next sc
FO, leaving a bit of a longer tail. This will be used to sew lid to mushroom
Mushroom Lid
Lid is done in one contious spiral
Ch 2
1) 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook. (6 sc)
2) 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc)
3) (2 sc in first sc, sc inext 2 sc) repeat around (16 sc)
4) sc in each sc around
5) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc) repeat around, ending with sc in last sc (21 sc)
6) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next 3 sc) repeat around, ending with sc in last sc (26 sc)
7) CH 5, sc in next sc, sc in each of the next 24 sc, slp st in last sc.
FO
Weave in ends.
The CH 5 is your button hole.
Sew lid to mushroom at opposite side of button hole. Sew button to mushroom, matching up with button hole.
Embellish as desired.
Mushroom complete!
