Class and Instructor Suggestions
Friday, 9 AM to noon Friday, 2 PM to 5 PM Saturday, 9 AM to noon Saturday, 2 PM to 5 PM We can therefore schedule up to eight 3-hour classes during the retreat, two during each of the four time slots. Based on Crochetville member input from earlier in 2009, students were not willing to pay more than $30 for a 3-hour class. While we would love to be able to offer free classes, please keep in mind that the class fee must cover quite a few costs: planning/coordination/publicity expenses, daily classroom rental, and teacher fees. If a class doesn't get enough registrations to cover all these costs, that class would have to be canceled. Because of the class fees that members were willing to pay, we will not be able to offer a teacher fee that will offer complete reimbursement for all expenses to attend the retreat and time involved preparing for and leading the class, nor will we likely be able to offer classes taught by nationally-recognized teachers. We may be limited to relatively local teachers or teachers coming from a longer distance who would be attending the retreat even if they weren't teaching. Please let us know what types of classes you'd like to take, and if you have a recommendation for a teacher for that class who would be willing to work within our limitations for teacher compensation. INSTRUCTORS: If you'd like to teach a class, please send me a PM or email with the following basic information: Name of Class: Basic Description: Outline of What You'll Cover: Your Previous Teaching Experience: Expected Fee (please keep in mind above information about class fees): We'll keep all the suggestions on file for awhile, so we can try to put together a good variety of classes.
