I have never done this before but I am in!!! I am thinking right now that I may try and learn a broomstick pattern. Anyone have any good ideas? I don't even know where to start!

This sounds like fun but not sure what I would do. I would like to make the Rubber Ducky ghan from the Happy House. That would be a challenge for me simply because I don't like and never have joined squares using the slip stitch method, whip stitch method or sc method. The only method I have used is the join as you go methods. Every time I have tried joining squares by slip stitching or whipstitching the outcome looks really really horrible although I have been told I am doing it right. I will have to about this and see if I can come up with a project.

I"ve whipstitched my projects together...secret is "squaring off" the corners and stitching an X in the corners of the squares....all that information is from Cara, the founder and designer of that site.
Good luck!

I would love to do this...but not sure what to do. I am a new crocheter so I am thinking of doing something for my husbands customers. Like dishcloths. He is a landscaper and has all lady customers and I was thinking of trying to do something nice for them as a thank you..they have been customers for years.

ETA: I have changed my mind already....I am going to try to make those for Christmas now I have to find something new to make. My mother-in-law was wanting a table cloth or runner....hhhmmmm. Any suggestions?

Well I may do like Shaylen and put them all in a folder and then pull one out of a hat.

Thanks for the info. I will have to check into that and give it a try. Do you know if there is a tutorial or possibly a picture of a close up of what it should like in the corners? I think I know what you're saying but would like to see just in case I am confused (which is not uncommon for me ).

I never looked for a closeup pic, but if you go on the CAL http://www.crochetville.org/forum/sh...ad.php?t=43064
and ask, I'm sure any of the ladies with a WIP or something finished would be glad to help if they can. Just be patient- there are times the CAL is more active and other times not, but someone always chimes in, and often Cara, who owns the Happy Yellow House site.

Contemplating a wearable... I keep promising my DH a sweater or something and he really likes the look of the zipper down vest in the latest Interweave. I've read over the pattern so many times I think I have it memorized but I'm so afraid to try it because of how goofy it will turn out since I've never done an item of clothing.

I have some lovely peach baby yarn and I think I will use that for making a baby dress during the games. Now I just have to find my pattern book with all the cute baby dresses in it. It's lost somewhere in my stash. But I know I can find it by February.

And then I can enter the dress in the County Fair in August. So it's a two-for-one project.
