Trust me there is nothing to be afraind about with broomstick crocheting. It was the first thing I learned how to do from my MIL. It is just awsome and beautiful and works up so fast. And all I knew how to do when I started was a chain stitch. You'll enjoy learning this one.

Do you need both broomstick lace pin and size 50 knitting needle for this class? This broomstick lace looks pretty intimidating... Willing to try...

You will be using one or the other. Sometimes you'll be able to find a broomstick pin, sold separately, at the store. The ones I usually see are blue and white, made by Boye. However, if you're unable to find one, a size 35 or size 50 knitting needle will do.

It's actually quite easy, once you get the hang of it. It can be a bit fiddly in the beginning, as both of your hands become accustomed to coming into action instead of only the one for the hook. But, after practice, things become more natural, especially after developing your own natural style.

I just signed up for this class. I did this years ago and thought it would be fun to do a refresher -- and be accountable with my realm of WIPs. Thinking of a soft lavender color for my DIL for Christmas.........

No, I'm sorry. This is a beginner broomstick lace class and won't include shaping.
