Description: A Tunisian crochet technique using a double-ended hook will be taught in this class. Students will learn up to three Tunisian crochet stitches to make a scarf as long as they like! There are no limits with this special technique! Beginning students will learn the basics of Tunisian crochet and using the double-ended hook. Advanced students will enjoy learning to use a double-ended hook with a solid color project, which isn't normally seen in double-ended hook projects.

Supplies Needed:
  • Caron Simply Soft yarn recommended or a comparable soft worsted weight, 2 solid-color skeins needed for scarf, 1 in main color and 1 in contrasting color. Please, no variegated yarns. Anyone wanting to try the unique solid color double-ended hook project will need 2 skeins of the same color.
  • Double-ended Tunisian hook, sizes can range from H through K. H will produce a tighter project while K will have more drape. For reference, a K hook was used for the projects in the photo.
  • Small yarn needle

Welcome, everyone! I am the teacher for this class and I'm available should you have any questions before class starts.

I really love working on Tunisian crochet projects and I love the versatility provided by the double-ended hook. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that you could use any size double-ended hook to create projects as wide as you like! This will be one of the techniques I'll be teaching you here.

This class is set up to allow you to learn at your own pace. There are three separate "sections" to it. Students will learn one section and can continue with that until they feel comfortable. Then, they can progress to the next. The third section is the most challenging, so those students who prefer a challenge, will be eager to move on. But, since everyone can move at their own pace, you can complete as many sections as you would like, at your own pace.

I hope to see you there!

Hi, I'm really interested in learning this technique and I already brought a K double headed hook. I am kind of puzzle about what type of yarn to buy other than Caron Simply Soft. Can you give me some idea about other soft yarns that can be used for this technique???? Thank you.

You will want a worsted yarn. There are so many to choose from that will work for a project like this. If you have something in mind, let me know. But, honestly, just about anything is going to work well for you, as long as you have solid colors and they are contrasting enough so that you can easily tell them apart when working with them.

Yipee I just registered for this class, I have my double-ended K hook, my Simply Soft yarn and I am ready to learn a new technique. I was so happy that AC Moore had the hook in stock. The last class I register for was your broomstick lace class which I couldn't participate in for I ended up in the hospital very ill. This class I'm roaring to go.
