Crystal's Snowflake 2009

This snowflake was designed specifically for my partner, Crystal, for the Snowflake Swap. It measures about 2" across when made with size 10 thread and a size 7 steel crochet hook. I used metallic Knit-Cro-Sheen in the example.

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
ch3p = chain 3 picot
ch4p = chain 4 picot

Instructions:

Ch 6, join with sl st in 1st ch to form ring.

Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as 1st dc), 2 dc in ring, ch 3, sl st in top of last dc, *3 dc in ring, ch 3, sl st in top of last dc,* repeat 4 times, ending with sl st in 2nd ch of initial ch 2. [Total of 6 ch3p]

Round 2: Sl st in next 2 dc and into ch3p, *ch 4, sl st in same ch3p, ch 5, sl st in next ch3p,* repeat around ending with ch 2, dc in initial ch3p.

Round 3: *4 dc in next ch4p, ch 4, sl st in top of last dc, 3 dc in same ch4p, sl st in 3rd ch of next ch 5 loop, ch 4, sl st in same ch,* repeat around ending with sl st in top of dc join of previous round. ch 4, sl st in same space.

Fasten off, starch, and block.

Very pretty, Linda. I'm looking forward to making this one. But then I always like your designs, don't I?

Thanks ladies. I really like this one. It works up quickly and is quite a bit different in construction from most of my other snowflake patterns. Enjoy!
