Turtle Pin cushion

This is a thank you gift. The support I have been receiving concerning Libby is amazing. Thank you all so much!!
Just a small token of my appreciation!
Feel free to sell completed projects from this pattern.
Do not sell pattern itself

Supplies needed:

E hook
Small amounts of worsted weight yarn
Fiberfill
Buttons with shanks for eyes
Stitch marker, or safety pin
Tapestry needle

Terms used:
Ch = chain
Sc = single crochet
Sc-dec = single crochet decrease over 2 stitches
Slp st = slip stitch
FO =- fasten off/finish off
BLO = back loops only. Pertains to that row only
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc = double crochet

This turtle is made with an open mouth.
If you prefer a closed mouth, simply skip the ch’s in head at row 6. Simply sc around row 6 and 7, and follow directions for the rest.

The turtle is crocheted in a continuous spiral, unless other wise noted. Use stitch marker, or safety pin to make row end.

Body

With light green
Ch 2
1) 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook
2) 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc)
3) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc) repeat around (18 sc)
4) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc) repeat around (24 sc)
5) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next 3 sc) repeat around (30 sc)
6) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next 4 sc) repeat around (36 sc)
7-10) sc in each sc around.
It is easiest if you embroider shell here. Another option, glue or sew sequence or buttons on after assembling turtle.
11) BLO, (sc-dec, sc in next 4 sc) repeat around (30 sc)
12) (sc-dec, sc in next 3 sc) repeat around (24 sc)
13) (sc-dec, sc in next 2 sc) repeat around (18 sc)
Stuff turtle now. If you want to add some weight, add a few marble, fish rocks, flat marbles, etc in with the stuffing.
14) (sc-dec, sc in next sc) repeat around (12 sc)
15) sc -dec around (6 sc)
Slp st to next sc and FO leaving longer tail.
Use tail to sew hole shut.

Mouth
With pink, Ch 2
1) 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook
2) 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc)
3) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc) repeat around (18 sc)
4) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc) repeat around (24 sc)
Slp st to next sc and FO leaving long tail.

5) sc in each sc around
6) sc in first 12 sc, ch 12, skip next 12 sc. (12 sc, and 12 ch’s)
7) sc in each sc and each ch around. (24 sc)
8) sc in each sc around.
9) (sc-dec, sc in next 2 sc) repeat around (18 sc)
Sew mouth into opening created by row 6. See photo for help

Sew head to turtle body.

Legs (make 4)

Oh my gosh! Tooooo cute! LOVE the open mouth! (Looks like my tort when he sees me coming with lettuce!) I've got a couple turtle projects to work on, and I'll have to add this one, too! Thank you!
